Breanna Weaver

Breanna Weaver focuses exclusively on Family Court matters including, but not limited to, Relief from Abuse proceedings, High Conflict Divorce, Child Custody and Parent Child Contact, Child Support, and post-judgment enforcement and/or modification of existing court orders. Breanna has exclusively focused on these Family Court issues since she began practicing in Vermont in 2018.

Breanna is a trauma informed attorney who strives to make the divorce and family court process more understandable, straightforward, and approachable for her clients. She is an accomplished litigator with extensive courtroom experience. However, Breanna also appreciates the value of mediation and utilizes alternative dispute resolution to reach out of court agreements whenever possible.

When children are involved in a family law case, Breanna works closely with all parties to make sure any outcome is in the best interest of the children. Breanna has experience representing minor children in high conflict family law matters. As a child’s attorney, Breanna strives to strike a balance between making sure that the child’s voice is heard, while also attempting to appropriately limit the child’s involvement in the more confrontational elements of family law.

The Vermont Law School Alumni Association awarded Breanna The Vermont Law School Alumni Award (now known as the Lex Pro Urbe et Orbe Award) for her extensive involvement with the school and community. After graduation, Breanna worked for a year at a corporate firm, while volunteering as a hotline advocate with her local domestic violence organization. She then spent over three years working as a Staff Attorney at the legal clinic housed within the Vermont Network against Domestic and Sexual Violence. During her tenure there, Breanna’s practice focused exclusively on high conflict cases where she learned to understand and work with the complexities that can arise in households experiencing abuse. In 2019, Vermont Law School’s Women’s Law Group awarded Breanna the inaugural Phenomenal Women Alumni Award for her pro bono service to the community. Breanna has co-taught a CLE for Family Law attorneys about how to make their practice trauma-informed. Breanna also served as a member of the Law School Committee of the Vermont Commission on the Well-Being of the Legal Profession.
